Berry-Tinted Crease Date Night Makeup Look

Luminous Skin + Soft Tipsy, Blurred-Out Vibe

Built on a dewy, sheer luminous base, this look uses berry-toned shadow blended softly at the outer corner of the eye for that gentle tipsy, diffused effect. Paired with a glossy glass lip and soft pink blush, it’s the classic sweet Japanese-style date night makeup.

The Steps

Step by Step
  1. 01

    Sunscreen Base Prep

Apply a thin layer of sunscreen all over your face, patting gently with your fingertips until fully absorbed. Wait for it to set completely before moving on to the next step to avoid pilling that would ruin how smoothly your base makeup sits.

Apply Base with a Dewy Cushion

Pick up a small amount of hydrating cushion foundation, and gently bounce it out from the center of your face outward. Keep the layers thin on your cheeks and forehead, letting your skin’s natural glow show through to create a sheer, powder-free luminous base.

    Conceal + Lightly Set

Use a small concealer brush to spot-apply concealer under the eyes and on red areas around the nose, patting it in gently. Dust only a thin layer of translucent setting powder on the T-zone and under the eyes, leaving your cheeks glowing instead of setting the whole face.

    Soft Diffused Brow Look

Use an ash-brown eyebrow pencil to fill in gaps along your natural hair growth, extending the tail of your brow naturally without a sharp, harsh edge. Then run a light brown brow gel through your brows, brushing against the growth first then smoothing back into place, to keep the brow color soft and even without rigid outlines.

    Eyeshadow Base Wash

Use a large eyeshadow brush to pick up a light warm beige-brown shade, tap off excess powder, then sweep a thin, even layer all over your eye socket as a base. This makes the later berry color show up more vividly while keeping edges soft and blended.

Blend Out the Berry Outer Corner

Pick up a deep berry red eyeshadow, and blend it out in a small area starting from the outer third of your eye moving inward. Soften and diffuse the edges upward and outward, keeping the color above your double eyelid crease to create that gentle tipsy outer eye effect.

Pro tipBuild the color in small, thin layers to avoid patchy, caked-on pigment.

    Eyeliner + Lashes

Use a brown kohl pencil to draw a thin line along your upper lash root, extending the tail naturally about 2mm. Curl your lashes, then apply one coat of lengthening mascara, lightly brushing through your lower lashes as well to keep the eye look sheer and lightweight.

    Natural Soft Nose Contour

Pick up a cool-toned light brown contour powder, tap off excess, then lightly sweep along the outer edges of your nose bridge. Don’t connect the two lines at the bridge of your nose, and blend until there are no harsh lines left, keeping dimension soft and natural.

    Highlighter to Lift Glow

Pick up a sheer champagne highlighter, and lightly dust it on the highest point of your cheekbones, brow bone, and tip of your nose. Sweep a tiny bit across the center of your face too, to boost that translucent dewy glow without looking caked.

    Soft Pink Blush

Pick up a sheer peach-pink blush, and sweep it lightly from the apples of your cheeks up toward your temples. Use a light hand, blending until it melts naturally into your base for that fresh, healthy flush on your cheeks.

    Glass Lip Look

First apply a layer of lip balm as a base, blot off excess oil with a tissue, then layer on a berry-colored glossy lip tint. Add a little extra product at the center of your lips for a plump, sheer, glass-like lip effect.

    Finishing Setting Mist

Hold a hydrating setting spray about 20cm from your face, spritzing 3-4 even times all over. Let it air dry naturally, don’t pat with your hands, to help your makeup sit smoother and last longer.
